WE MADE IT! I remember when Clay was about six weeks old and we were in the thick of the crying and the lack of sleep. I thought 'one year seems so far away, I wonder if I'll be able to stay alive that long'. Here we are, with a sense of joy in accomplishment. We've got 17 more to go until we get to send him off into the world. There will be a lot of equipping until then which will be fun. Today I took Clay to
Baskin Robbins for his first scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was just me so there are no pictures. He liked it but got bored of it after 5 bits and wanted to get back down on the floor to practice walking. After his nap, we might go get a balloon.

Clay's now able to explore the tools in the garage. He found the socket wrench on Sunday and Dave showed him how cool the drill is. Clay also loves to stand in the driver's seat and play with all the controls. Makes it hard to get him into his car seat.

I also wanted to include this photo for Clay's love of all things furry. Two weeks ago we took him to a petting zoo. We got up close to a guinea pig, rabbits, baby goats. A miniature horse gave his finger a nip and I think it startled Clay more than it hurt.

I love the inquisitively excited look in Clay's eyes as he's checking out the guinea pig. Priceless.
