Hugs

This morning I was trying to get my running shoes on to make it to Stroller Strides on time. I sat down on the step and Clay handed me my shoe. I put it on and demonstrated how to tie the laces. I showed him how to make a bow with one lace and use the other lace to 'give it a hug'. Somewhere in that demo it translated into him putting his arms around my neck and giving me a big, long hug. This was a FIRST! To avoid sounding cliche or sappy I'll just say that has got to be one of the BEST things in the world. After sacrificing sleep, freedom, time and digging down deep into depths of my own soul on a daily basis for heaps upon heaps of patience, it is an encouraging reward.
