Halloween and Other Things

To break up the week, occasionally we meet Da-da at La Paz on a Friday evening if he can get out of work early and the traffic is light. This place is great because Clay can squawk at the top of his lungs and not one person notices because it's so loud. So we love going there and I especially love it because I don't have to clean up! We found if we get a booth and give Clay a cup of ice we can actually sit there and enjoy our food for a little while.

This is the little creature who relocates our shoes and socks to places we didn't even know existed.

Spectacles!
After a fun day at the beach Clay tried to houdini out of his carseat
Mealtime. Beware of flying food. Clay's eating one of his favorites - spinach and walnut pesto.

Alas, Halloween! Clay loves his monkey costume. He carries it around everywhere...still. He also liked wearing it except for the hood. I put it on for this picture and it looks like he's thinking 'you're kidding me right?'. On Halloween my mom was visiting and she answered the door while we went across the street to the Vallens' for pizza. Once it got dark we went trick or treating and by the end of the block Clay started to get the hang of knocking on the door and putting the candy in his plastic pumpkin. When we got home we put him to bed and took over door duty for mom and the kids kept coming! Another one of our neighbors said he counted almost 300 kids came down our street. The haunted house down the block helped feed that I am sure. It's only going to get even better as Clay gets older and we're totally looking forward to that.
